In Conversation With Jack, Daryl & Cliona, the team behind Evaze reflects on their experience at Revive Fashion Fest.
Interview below:
Is this pop-up just a limited drop?
“Not at all,” said Jack.
“We like to showcase our full range of everything that’s on our website. Anytime we set up at events like this, whether it’s in Northern Ireland or further afield, we bring the full collection. It’s about showing people what we’re really about.”
Asked what separates Evaze from other gymwear lines, Daryl leaned in.
“I wouldn’t say we’re trying to ‘set ourselves apart’ just for the sake of it,” he explained.
“We’re a homegrown brand from Derry, and we take pride in that. We like to look after our own. We’re building something rooted in community, finding people here who back us, who understand what we’re building. Once we have Derry looked after, we’ll start expanding across the Republic, the UK, and beyond.”
Cliona continued:
“It’s easy for people to sleep on a local brand, but once they try on the gear, feel the material, see the detailing, that’s when it clicks. It’s not just about being from here, it’s about quality that competes with the best.”
What makes Evaze different when compared to bigger names in gymwear?
“The quality speaks for itself,” said Jack.
“We don’t just release anything. Every garment goes through testing, on ourselves, and through feedback from others. It has to perform in real workouts, and make you feel confident wearing it. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t make the cut.”
Clíona added with a smile,
“One of our customers, who is a popular influencer in Northern Ireland, actually said our set was the best thing she owns right now. That kind of confidence, that’s what we’re aiming for. You’re not just wearing a label, you’re wearing something that makes you feel strong.”
And when it comes to competing with established brands?
Daryl said:
“I’d put our quality up against any of them, Nike, Gymshark, whoever. We might not be a global name yet, but for the price and the product, we know what we bring. It’s a gamble worth taking, and most people who try us once always come back.”
Looking ahead, the team is focused on expansion, both physically and digitally.
“We’ve got some exciting things happening behind the scenes,” said Jack,
“but right now it’s about being visible. You’ll see more pop-ups. We're featuring in various PureGym's across Northern Ireland; Belfast, Newtownabbey, Coleraine to name a few.
And for those hoping to get involved?
Clíona confirmed:
“We’ve got an ambassador program running through the site. If you’re passionate about what we do, you can apply and we’ll reach out if it’s the right fit. We’re always open to building with people who believe in the brand.”
